Honoring Legacy, Building the Future: Thank You to Our Heritage Society Members

To our valued Heritage Society members and all who joined us for our recent celebration, thank you for being part of such a meaningful evening. Your presence and continued support illustrate the generosity and vision that sustain the Y’s mission.

The Heritage Society represents an extraordinary commitment to our future. Through planned giving and endowments, you ensure that the Y remains a place where everyone belongs. Where individuals and families from all walks of life can find opportunities to thrive and connect.

During the evening, we saw the inspiring story of Lynnette and Jeffrey Regan, whose lives have been deeply impacted by the Y. Their story reflects the essence of what makes the YMCA so special: a community built on inclusion, support, and shared purpose.

Ian Holder, YMCA of South Hampton Roads Chief Volunteer Officer, shared how the YMCA shaped his life and how he chose to honor his mother by establishing an endowment in her name. He invited everyone in the room to think about the legacy they could leave and reaffirmed how your commitment as Heritage Society members ensures that our Vision 2030—to connect communities, empower youth, and inspire hope—becomes a reality.

We are truly grateful to Truist for sponsoring the evening and to each of you who attended. Whether through your financial support, your time, or your belief in our mission, you are building a stronger, more inclusive community.

As we look ahead, we invite you to continue shaping the future of the Y with us. Thank you for your trust, your generosity, and your belief in the power of the Y to create lasting change. Together, we’re ensuring the Y remains a vital resource for generations to come.
