Low-Impact Water Fitness Classes

Water fitness provides all the benefits of a great cardiovascular and strength-conditioning workout while protecting your joints from excess strain. These classes are designed to help you improve joint and muscle flexibility, balance, coordination and strength. Fitness classes are included in YMCA membership.



WATERinMOTION® offers the benefit of a high energy calorie burning workout without the pull that gravity plays on the body. Experience the cross-training effects that water provides reducing the impact on your joints, specifically the knees and back. WATERinMOTION® Platinum is low-impact variation of the original that takes place in shallow water, offering active aging adults and deconditioned participants a fun workout improving cardiovascular endurance, agility, balance, strength and flexibility.

Aqua Zumba®

Integrating the Zumba® format and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba® blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that's cardio-conditioning, body toning and fun! Get dancing, in the water!

Deep Water Exercise

Hop in the deep end and get ready for a challenging workout! This deep water class is a great cardio workout that incorporates strength and flexibility exercises with the use of resistance equipment. 


Grab your fins and get ready for a whole-body workout, powered through your legs and core. Fins and kick boards enhance your water exercise experience as you are instructed through shallow and deep water cardio and strength exercises..

Gentle Water Exercise

Great for those challenged with the effects of arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis or recovering from joint injury or surgery. This class strengthens muscles and improves joint flexibility and range of motion. Exercises are performed in water depth that is comfortable and allows you to maintain balance while exercising. SEE THE SCHEDULE.

Power Aqua

This high intensity class incorporates an overall body workout with a variety of cardio and strength training techniques. Both shallow and deep water suspension and power moves challenge your body and keep you moving!

Water Exercise

In addition to the cardiovascular portion of this class performed in shallow water, strength and flexibility exercises using resistance equipment may be incorporated.
