Guest Policy

Welcome to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. We hope your visit is enjoyable! Please remember that our first priority is to serve our members who have made a commitment to the Y by joining. The purpose behind our guest policy is to enhance member service to current members who are encouraging a friend to join and make reasonable accommodations for members of other YMCA locations traveling in our are, for out-of-town family of current members and for out-of-town visitors. 

Family centers can restrict guest usage, hours of usage and area of usage with or without notice to ensure the safety and comfort of members.  We highly encourage members to contact the YMCA prior to visiting with a guest to inquire about guest restrictions due to demands on the facility.

All YMCA of South Hampton Roads locations are part of one association; therefore, a visit to one location counts as a visit to all centers. Guests must present proper photo ID.

Note that per our guest policy, guests under the age of 18 MUST have a parent/guardian sign the guest waiver, even if you are old enough to use the Y without parent/guardian supervision as outlined in the age guidelines.

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is proud to serve members across the country through the Y's Nationwide Membership Program.

Please note that the Outer Banks Family YMCA has guest policy exceptions from May 1–September 30. See below.


In-Town Guests


Guidelines (per year):

1st Visit: Complimentary 
2nd Visit: $5/person
3rd Visit: $10/person

In-Town guests are welcome to visit up to 3 times per year as outlined above


Out-of-Town Guests


Guidelines (per year):


Must be accompanied by a member of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads
Member may bring 5 guests per visit
Guests may visit up to 7 days per calendar year
Must live 50 miles outside of our service area and not a current YMCA member
