Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:45–6:45pm + Tuesday, 5:15–6:15pm, ages 7+
This group is designed to introduce athletes to a more competitive experience at meets and at practice in order to begin to develop racing strategies. Increased attendance at meets also introduces and encourages athletes to cultivate positive sportsmanship attitudes in and out of the pool. Swimmers in this group are gradually introduced to aerobic training with a focus on maintaining proper stroke mechanics in all four strokes including starts, turns, and finishes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular Participation in Swim Meets
- Minimum age: 7 (or pending coaches approval)
- Ability to listen and follow simple set instructions
- Ability to handle regular practice routines including dry land sessions
- Ability to swim:
- 500 Free
- 6 x100s Free @ 2:15
- Legal 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Butterfly

- Mechanics of an Individual Medley
- Proper streamlines and underwater mechanics
- Technique Refinement through Drill Work
- Intermediate endurance and conditioning
- Refinement of race starts and turns
- Relay starts and turns
- Introduction to intervals and pace
- Participation swimming meets
