BODYPUMP® at the Y

In January, the Mt. Trashmore Family YMCA introduced a new class to our group exercise schedule. BODYPUMP® is a barbell class that sculpts, tones and strengthens the entire body. Focus is placed on low weight loads and high repetition movements, which has been proven to burn fat and produce lean body muscle. From the perspective of a group exercise instructor, BODYPUMP® is as much fun to teach as it is challenging. The moves have already been choreographed, and each track/muscle group is specifically created to get results. Everyone taking this class is seeing the results! The music is fun and motivating and keeps the members coming back. This class has taken people out of their comfort zone and has pushed them through their plateau. BODYPUMP® also teaches the correct form of weight training technique in a non-threatening environment. We have seen the class size double since adding this class to our group exercise schedule.
One of our female members has attended as many BODYPUMP® classes as possible and has dropped quite a bit of weight that she has been struggling to lose. Many others have shared comments as to how inspirational this class is to them. I’ve also noticed couples attending this class together since both men and women feel comfortable participating in this type of class.
