Welcome to the Outer Banks!

The Outer Banks Family YMCA is located in one of the East Coast's more popular vacation destinations. Our first priority is to serve members who have made a commitment to the Y by joining. Our guest policy is designed to accommodate the volume of visitors to our YMCA and to also continue to serve and strengthen our local community. Local Guests

Local residents may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. The cost of each guest pass may be used to reduce your joining fee if you choose to join the Y. Guest passes can be purchased in-person the day your visit the Y.
  • A valid photo ID is required for all guests ages 18 and older.
  • Guests age 18 and older must sign a guest waiver each calendar year.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian sign the guest waiver.
  • Guests must check in at the welcome center inside the YMCA. Outdoor pool express member check-in is only available for local YMCA members. On holidays, guests must check in during the listed times that the YMCA building is open.
  • All YMCA of South Hampton Roads locations are part of one association—a visit to one location counts as a visit to all centers.
  • YMCAs may restrict guest usage, hours of usage and area of usage with or without notice to ensure the safety and comfort of members. We highly encourage members to contact the YMCA prior to visiting to inquire about guest restrictions due to demands on the facility.

Guests of Local Y Members

Out-of-Town Guests of Members

Out of town guests of members may visit up to 7 days per calendar year for $5/visit. Guests must be accompanied by a member during each visit to the Outer Banks Family YMCA. "Out of town" is defined as a person living more than 50 miles outside our service area and not a current YMCA member.
  • A valid photo ID is required for all guests ages 18 and older.
  • Guests age 18 and older must sign a guest waiver each calendar year.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian sign the guest waiver.
  • Guests of members must be accompanied by the member to check into the Y.

Nationwide YMCA Members

The Outer Banks Family YMCA does not participate in the nationwide membership program from May 1–September 30. Day pass discounts are available for nationwide YMCA members.

If you are a member of any YMCA of South Hampton Roads location, use of the Outer Banks Family YMCA is included in your membership.

Vacation Day Pass
$10 per person (regularly $15 per person
Nationwide YMCA members save $5 off the regular day pass rate of $15 per person. Day passes can be purchased in-person at the Y on the day of your visit.

Vacation Week Pass
$75/individual
$95/family
Vacation week passes provide unlimited access to the Y for 10 days. Family is defined as parent/guardian(s) and dependent children under the age of 26.

Nationwide YMCA Members

Nationwide membership enables Y members to visit any participating YMCA in the United States when out of town. This YMCA participates in the nationwide membership program from October 1–April 30, and we look forward to seeing you!

  • Your local YMCA must participate in the nationwide membership program, so that we can verify your YMCA membership.
  • Please note that nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time. 
  • Nationwide members must check in at the welcome center inside the YMCA.
  • If you wish to bring a guest with you when using the Y, your guest must live within 50 miles of the YMCA you will be visiting and abide by the guest policy for local residents.

Vacation Passes

Traveling and want to use the Y while you're in town? Vacation day passes and week passes are available. Vacation week passes give you access to the Outer Banks Family YMCA for 10 days.

Staying in a participating Y Home or Y Hotel

Your stay in a Y-Home or Y-Hotel location while in the Outer Banks includes access to the Outer Banks Family YMCA at no additional charge.
