United Under One Cause

While the world grows ever more complex, the Y remains a place of acceptance, support and safety. 2019 was a year full of growth, friends and moments that brought positive change to just one or to many.

LA HISTORIA DE ANA (ANA'S STORY)

Social Responsibility Highlights

Safe Spaces

More than 2,200 children benefited from assistance, providing a safe and enriching environment during time away from school, helping to close the achievement gap.

Preventing Learning Loss

Nearly 6,500 children attended a summer camp, where preventing summer learning loss was just one benefit of their time at camp.

Safe in the Water

Over 11,000 people gained confidence while learning critical water safety and swim skills.

#GivingTuesday

On a single day in December for #GivingTuesday, with the help of matching gift sponsor TowneBank and a community aligned with the Y's mission to create a better us, we raised $144,186 to ensure that no one is turned away from the Y, regardless of their ability to pay.

Volunteerism

Over 2,500 volunteers shared more than 35,000 hours participating in service projects and gifting their time to their community through various programs and projects to help build up their neighbors and community.

Adaptive Adventure

At YMCA JT's Camp Grom, wounded veterans, Gold Star Families and adults/children with differing abilities had place to grow and thrive together through adventure, in an adaptive and inclusive environment.

Over $2.9 million in public support through grants, United Way funding and generous donations to fundraising campaigns helped make sure the Y is open and available to everyone in our community.
