Cecilia Firstenburg, Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA

Cecilia Firstenburg, 2020 Recipient of the YMCA Volunteer Service Award for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads


Cecilia is a Blocker board member and has been incredible in 2020! Cecilia is currently our Annual Campaign Chair. She led a successful campaign in 2020 for Blocker and is poised for 2021. Cecilia and her family also volunteered at many Foodbank distribution days at the YMCA on Granby during our shutdown. Cecilia also helped assemble Easter baskets for our Togetherhood project for Tidewater Friends of Foster care. In addition to all of the above, she is also now on the Mission Advancement Committee for the corporate board focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Cecilia and Cliff, her husband, have supported the Y in so many ways. We are a better Y because of the commitment they have made to serve. We thank Cecilia and Cliff for always being willing to serve our community!!
