The Y and HRT team up to Empower teens this summer

This summer, we're teaming up with Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) to offer you an amazing opportunity to HOP ON & HANG OUT!

At the Y, we're all about fostering belonging and making sure everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive. That's why on June 1st, from 2-4 pm, we're inviting all teenagers to come down to the Blocker Norfolk Family Y and sign up for a FREE summer membership. But wait, there's more! While you’re at the Blocker Y, you can also sign up for a FREE Student Freedom Pass. This pass provides high school students ages 13-18 years old with unlimited free rides on Hampton Roads Transit’s bus, ferry, and light rail services.

We're not just offering you a membership and a transit pass; we're giving you the keys to unlock new opportunities and explore everything our region has to offer. Whether you want to hit the gym, take a dip in the pool, or hop on a bus and discover new places, we've got you covered.

We believe that by removing barriers and providing access to essential services like fitness facilities and public transportation, we can create a more connected and vibrant community. And we want you to be a part of it!

So mark your calendars for June 1st, 2024, from 2-4 p.m., and join us at the Blocker Norfolk YMCA located at 312 W Bute St, Norfolk, VA 23510.
