Outdoor Day Camp | YMCA Camp Red Feather
YMCA Camp Red Feather offers youth and teens ages 5–15 a safe and exciting outdoor summer adventure. Children and teens will learn life skills, create memories and form friendships through a variety of activities on 40 acres of fields and forests.
YMCA Camp Red Feather is located on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University, at 1584 Wesleyan Drive in Virginia Beach. Bus transportation is available from the Greenbrier Family YMCA in Chesapeake, and the YMCA on Granby in Norfolk.
Camp Hours
6:30am–9am: Drop-off & free play
9am–4pm: Camp Activities
4–6pm: Free play & pick-up
Camp Fees
Members: $217/week Join & save $440/camper!
Nonmembers $261/week
A $50 one-time nonrefundable enrollment fee and $15 nonrefundable weekly deposit is due at registration.
Outdoor Adventure Camp Options
First Camp
Outdoor Adventure First Camp provides an introductory experience for our new-to-camp kiddos ages 5–6. Campers will learn about friendship, responsibility, caring and follow a structured schedule filled with age-appropriate activities.

Discovery Camp
Campers ages 6–7 grow in responsibility, independence and healthy relations, and discover the natural world through traditional camp activities. As camp and have a dedicated counselor who guides them throughout the day, facilitating fun activities.

Explorers Camp
Explorers join family groups with campers age 8–9, with a dedicated counselor who guides them through the day, facilitating fun activities. Campers participate in activities as a group and will also have the freedom to choose their own activity during Favorite Activity Time.

Pathfinders Camp
Pathfinder Camp is for campers ages 10–12 who want to develop and strengthen friendships, challenge themselves and grow in their strengths. Guided by counselors, pathfinders are the budding leaders of camp, and help cultivate new traditions, bringing the thunder to camp assemblies!

Trailblazers Camp
Trailblazers Camp is a leadership development camp for ages 13–14. Trailblazers enjoy favorite camp activities and team building challenges. They also have the opportunity to shadow camp counselors, learn facilitation skills and participate in service projects.

The camp environment provides a unique opportunity for youth aged 15 to 16 to build leadership skills, particularly in assisting counselors with younger campers. Participants develop and practice the leadership skills they need to become camp counselors.
