Membership Types & Rates
When you join the Y, you're committing to more than simply becoming healthier. You're supporting the values and programs that strengthen your community. At the Y, children learn what they can achieve, families spend quality time together and we all build relationships that deepen our sense of belonging.
The membership rates listed below are available for the YMCA of South Boston/Halifax County only.
Membership Options
Individual
Includes one individual, 13+ years of age. A parent or guardian must sign the membership agreement if the active member is under 18.
Joining Fee: $25
Monthly Dues: $41
Adult+1
Includes two people living in the same household at the same address.
Joining Fee: $25
Monthly Dues: $49
Family
Includes adults, their dependent children, and any relatives living in the same household at the same address up to three adults over the age of 26. An additional fee of $15/month will apply for each additional adult over the age of 26 beyond the first three.

Monthly Dues: $59
Open Doors Financial Assistance
Because our community is strongest when we all participate together, financial assistance is available for membership and programs. When you apply for Open Doors, rates are set by a sliding fee scale, based on income. Assistance is made possible by generous donations to the Y's annual giving campaign.
