Every child deserves the chance to thrive. That’s why YMCAs across the country are coming together to spark collective change in communities by hosting YMCA’s National Day of Giving on Tuesday, March 4. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is focusing on a life-changing initiative for our cities surrounded by water: water safety programs.
- Water safety programs save lives. Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1-14.
- Participating in formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88%.
- The Y is dedicated to making swim lessons and water safety accessible to all children, regardless of their background.
On the YMCA’s Day of Giving, your support can ensure every child has access to this life-changing program.
Today, our goal is to give 250 kids life-saving water safety training. Every gift helps more children gain the skills and confidence they need to stay safe in and around the water. Whether it’s a $25 donation or $500 to fund a session of swim lessons, every gift makes an impact.
