Get Involved with Project 1844
April 22, A Day of Service at the YMCA
Project 1844 is a day of service hosted by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. We're inviting members of the community to come together on April 22nd and volunteer their time with the goal of collectively donating 1844 hours of service to the Y. Whether you're interested in helping to clean up the facilities, planting flowerbeds, or testing your skills with a powerwasher, we have many projects that we need help with.

The Y has a rich history of creating safe spaces for individuals seeking refuge from the dangers of the world around them. From its origins in industrial London in 1844 (get it? 1844?) to its global presence today, the Y continues to provide enriching experiences for communities worldwide. This is why we're excited to host Project 1844, a day of service where we ask the community to come together to donate 1844 hours of their time to the Y.
Volunteering is a powerful way to make a positive impact in your community. It allows you to connect with others who share similar interests while also giving back to the Y. When you volunteer, you are not only helping others, but you are also helping us to continue our mission of service to all.
