In February, over 350 YMCA locations across the country participated in the Rally for the Y event.

This annual, month-long fundraising event gets riders to hop on the Expresso Bike at their Y to rack up the miles in order to raise money for financial assistance for causes around the Y like swim lessons, summer camp and membership for all. For every mile riders ride, Expresso donates $.10. This year, motivated riders raised over $14,000 for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, more than double the amount raised in 2019.

The Princess Anne Family YMCA collectively rode for almost 5,000 miles, the MOST out of all YMCA of South Hampton Roads locations, and were within the top 20 for the entire rally! The Outer Banks Family YMCA, Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA, Suffolk Family YMCA, and YMCA on Granby all rode over 1,500 miles. Way to go! One rider from the Princess Anne Family YMCA, Sandra, rode for over 400 miles, as well as gained 14 sponsors and $200 in pledges! Check her out here on Facebook as staff surround her and cheer her on as she cracks the 400 mile mark.

Thank you to all of those who rode for the Y, for helping to make the Y a place for all. You are all #YChangeMakers!
