Feeling Great Never Gets Old.

In Virginia, more and more people are getting older. By 2030, it's expected that one in five people in the state will be over 65. As this group grows, there’s a bigger need for support to help them stay healthy. This includes good nutrition, exercise, and social activities.

The Y is committed to helping older adults stay healthy. We encourage everyone who is 50 or older to focus on healthy eating, staying active, and staying social. These habits are important for a healthy and happy life.

Programs for Older Adults

Wellness Plans

 

When you join, you get two free personal training sessions. You'll meet with a trainer who will talk to you about your health goals and any concerns you have. They’ll then create a workout plan just for you.

Fitness Classes

 

Cardio classes like Zumba Gold, line dancing, and water exercise come in different intensities to match all fitness levels.

Adult Sports

 

Racquetball, basketball, pickleball and golf at First Tee — Hampton Roads are just a few of the adult sports available at the Y. 

Social Activities

 

Table games, potlucks, walking clubs, and more help you stay connected and involved in your community.

Field Trips

 

Enjoy day and overnight trips, plus educational seminars on different topics. They are designed to be fun and interesting.

Volunteering

 

Volunteers are crucial to the Y. Without them, we couldn’t support the kids, families, and adults in our community.
